Innova crysta comfort and reliability is second to none, if you can compromise in style and features go blind fold on crysta I am using crysta from last 4 years no problem at all

I am having a petrol car of maruti Swift zxi version since 2016. Car is perfectly alright in performance. Due to increse of family members, I want to purchase a 7 seater car. But due to E-20 problem which car will be suitable for me.... Diesel or electric?

Certainly, I suggest Innova new Crysta, which I purchased during last month. Excellent performance. This is second innova I bought for my family.

On the other hand, the Innova Crysta is renowned for its comfort and reliability, making it a favorite for many families. In terms of resale value, the Innova often holds its value better. I'm confused between Tata Punch 1.2 Adventure AMT and Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXI Turbo. Both are priced almost the same. My usage will mostly be weekend city driving, with the occasional 100+ km highway trip. The Punch offers more features for the price, while the Brezza has the advantage of Maruti Suzuki's proven reliability, lower maintenance costs, and excellent after-sales service. Considering my usage and priorities, which one would you recommend?

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXI Turbo. Your usage is mostly weekend city driving with occasional highway trips, and in that scenario, the Brezza is the more sensible long-term choice. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is punchy enough for city use and overtakes on the highway, while Maruti’s service network, lower maintenance costs and proven reliability make ownership far easier over the years. The Brezza also feels like a more substantial car, with better space and a more mature ride, which you will appreciate on longer drives.The Tata Punch 1.2 Adventure AMT does offer more features for the price, but the engine-AMT gearbox combination is slow, which won't feel as effortless to drive as the Brezza Turbo in hilly regions around Guwahati. Yes, with the Brezza Turbo, you only get a manual transmission, but unless having a clutch-free experience is an absolute must-have, get the Brezza.

Hi Autocar India, I recently booked the Maruti Suzuki Brezza LXi Turbo. With a budget of ₹Rs 8–9 lakh, I chose the base variant and plan to add a music system and rear camera later. This is my first new car, and my monthly running will be around 1,000–1,200 km, mostly highway commuting. I chose the Brezza Turbo over the Hyundai Exter HX4 because it offers better value, is a segment above, and suits my highway usage and preference for a higher seating position. I have two questions: First, should I be concerned about the turbo engine with increasing ethanol blending, as some reviewers advise against it? Second, I prefer a simple, low-maintenance car and only need a music system and rear camera apart from the standard LXi features. Can these be installed after a few months in the aftermarket without affecting the warranty, assuming the factory wiring and connectors are already provided? I am open to any other car suggestions that suit my needs if Brezza is not advisable.

You have made a sensible choice with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza LXi Turbo given your budget and usage. The Brezza will offer you the low maintenance motoring that you want, and since your commute is mostly on highways, the extra power from the turbo will come in handy. Turbo petrols are sensitive to driving style and can very easily be fuel inefficient, especially in the city, but again with your driving mostly on the highway, this should not be that nig of a worry. As for your concerns on E20, all engines today are engineered to handle E20 fuel and most manufacturers including Maruti, have stated that there is a material compatibility tolerance level built in for a slightly higher blend too.As for the music system and rear camera, yes, these can be installed in the aftermarket and generally dealers do not create a warranty issue around this; however, strictly speaking, it can be viewed as grounds for voiding a warranty, especially if the component affected is related to the accessory installed. Thus, if you are worried, then Maruti Suzuki car dealers can also fit these accessories later, which is the safest route from a warranty perspective.

Our budget for a used car is up to Rs. 8 lakh, although we are open to stretching it if there is a significantly better long-term option. Given your requirements, the first-generation Hyundai Creta petrol is actually a very sensible choice. It offers a comfortable ride, a higher seating position for your grandmother, good reliability and a proven ownership experience. In that context, a 2020-2021 Maruti Suzuki Brezza or Toyota Urban Cruiser petrol automatic is also worth serious consideration. Both these offer meet all your requirements, and will also be reliable and inexpensive cars to own over the long term, with excellent service reach and low maintenance costs. Additionally, they're likely to be newer than a Creta petrol-automatic available at this price point.As far as E20 goes, most pre-2023 cars are not compatible with this fuel type, however the impact of using E20 in these older cars is not likely to be immediate. But if you can stretch your budget sligthly, for peace of mind, get a new car instead. You could consider a base Mahindra XUV 3XO Turbo-Petrol AT, which will cost you around Rs. 11.50 lakh (on-road). It is safe, spacious, and it meets all your requirments.

The choice really comes down to your usage and what you value in the car. If you need more space for both passengers and luggage and have a few long drives that you would undertake, then opt for the Tata Sierra. This Tata car is much larger and has a very spacious interior. The ride quality is also very good over both bad city roads as well as high highway speeds. If, however, your usage is mainly going to be within the city, then the Kia Syros is the better buy. Its compact footprint will be much easier to manage while driving congested streets, and finding parking would be easier. You would also enjoy the top variant of the Kia car and its features.

I am confused between Taigun 1.5 Sport and Seltos Diesel X-Line top model. I have owned the Polo AT and Vento AT in the past, so my love for Volkswagen is making this decision difficult.

Go for the Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 TSI Sport. Coming from a Polo and Vento automatic, you already appreciate Volkswagen’s driving DNA, and the Taigun 1.5 TSI is a natural progression. The engine is punchy, the DSG gearbox is quick and engaging, and the overall driving experience is far more involving than the Seltos. The Taigun also feels more compact and agile in the city, while still being comfortable on the highway. The Volkswagen Taigun mileage is 19.54 kpl for the 1.0 TSI AT, 19.98 kpl for the 1.0 TSI MT, and 18.85 kpl for the 1.5 TSI DCT.The Kia Seltos diesel X-Line is a strong all-rounder with better space, a more premium cabin and a more relaxed long-distance character, but it does not offer the same level of driver engagement. The diesel engine is efficient and torquey, but it lacks the excitement of the 1.5 TSI. Given your history with Volkswagen cars, the Taigun will simply feel more familiar and more enjoyable to drive every day. The Taigun price starts at Rs 11.00 lakh (ex-showroom).

Go for the Kia Carens Clavis diesel automatic. It is the most sensible and well-rounded choice for your requirements. The Carens is a genuinely spacious seven-seater with a comfortable third row, which is important when the car will be shared between families. The diesel automatic is the right powertrain for strong fuel efficiency and effortless performance, especially on highways and with a full load. The Carens also comes well equipped with features like a panoramic sunroof, and Kia’s service network and ownership experience are among the best in the segment. The only real drawback is that the Carens does not have the same SUV-like road presence as some rivals, but as a practical family car it is hard to fault. If you want something with a more rugged SUV feel, the Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel automatic is worth considering, but mileage would be lower. The Carens is the better all-round family car.
