I am planning to buy a Punch.ev but I’m confused with other EVs like the MG Windsor EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Hyundai e-Vitara. I have to travel about 75 km daily, and I also go out occasionally with my family. Which one is the better choice?

The new Tata Punch EV facelift, which has been recently launched, is hard to fault. It now offers improved range, strong performance and an excellent ride. What makes it even more attractive is the pricing. Tata Motors has launched it at a starting price of Rs 10.3 lakh (on-road), which makes it an exceptional value and even more competitive than before.

The only real weakness of the Punch EV is the cramped back seat, which may not be ideal for regular family outings. If your daily 75km commute is the priority and your family can tolerate the tighter rear space occasionally, then you can go for the Punch EV without a second thought.

However, if cabin space is critical for you, then the MG Windsor EV is the better option. It has a far more spacious and comfortable cabin, making it better suited for family use, though it is not as nice to drive as the Punch EV.

Don't go for Tata car since there are no delivery commitments from the Company and the customer care does not respond at all. You book a car with Tata and then be at their mercy for delivery. Worst experience

If you want ROI and don’t want to spent toooo much money go for punch. You will not regret. If your planning to go outstation 400km go to next version.

I got a Tata Punch.EV in July last year and it’s been a pleasure to use. I had test driven this and the Nexon.EV. I would suggest test drive each of the cars you are considering and see how they drive. Also understand their interfaces for things like adjusting your driving modes, regenerative breaking levels etc. The Tata EVs let you modify regen levels with paddles behind the steering wheel. It is massively useful while driving!!

I am looking for an EV as my daily travel is around 75 km. I have a 3.3kW charging facility free at my office, plus a fast DC charger nearby. My budget is flexible as I am exploring the new Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV and Curvv EV, considering the ₹3.5 lakh discount on the Curvv EV. What should be the logical choice, considering I don’t have much experience in driving, hardly, for 4-5 months as of now?

Among the options you mentioned, the Tata Punch EV Long Range is the most logical choice. It is compact, easy to manoeuvre and park, and its smooth electric power delivery makes city driving very simple for someone with limited driving experience. With your daily running and office charging facility, range should never be a concern. The new car is also very well-priced and a great value for money, thanks to the price cut compared to the older car.The Tata Nexon EV is a good step up if you want more space and a slightly more premium feel. It offers a bigger cabin and boot, which can be useful if you regularly travel with family. The Tata Curvv EV becomes attractive because of the ₹3.5 lakh discount, but it is a larger car and may feel slightly intimidating to drive initially.

Hi team, I want to buy a 7-seater car. Need advice between Toyota HyCross GX (O), Tata Safari or Mahindra 7XO.

You should go for the Toyota Innova HyCross GX (O) if you want a true 7-seater with the roomiest third row of seats. The HyCross's 2,850 mm wheelbase and flat floor make the third row friendlier for adults than the Tata Safari or the Mahindra XUV 7XO. Furthermore, it's backed up by Toyota’s proven reliability and hassle-free ownership in India. However, you will have to compromise when it comes to the powertrain. The Hycross' 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine isn't as punchy as the Tata Safari and XUV 7XO's turbocharged units, and real-world mileage is quite poor, as we managed 6.9kpl in the city and 12.4kpl on the highway. The Toyota also doesn't get a diesel engine option like the other two.If you prioritise performance and high-end features, either the Safari or the Mahindra XUV 7XO makes more sense. As for pricing, the Innova HyCross GX (O) is priced between Rs 20.43 lakh and Rs 20.56 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hi, I am stuck between two cars with specific models: Tata Safari Adventure+ (Petrol, Automatic TC) at ₹22.62 lakh and Kia Carens Clavis 2025 model HTX(O), DVT petrol at ₹22.06 lakh (I am getting ₹2.5 lakh discount for the 2025 model in Gravity Grey). I plan to keep the car for the next 15 years. I live in a nearby town of Bangalore and don’t drive inside the city much. It's mostly towns and highways, with occasional city visits to malls. Average driving is less than 1000 km monthly. The 7-seater requirement is just a few times a year (when I club my sister's family).

Between the two, the Kia Carens Clavis HTX(O) petrol automatic is the better choice. It will feel easier to drive on highways and around town, and since you only need the third row a few times a year, its seating layout will work perfectly well without carrying the size and weight of a larger SUV every day.The Tata Safari does offer stronger road presence and a higher seating position, but it is a bigger and heavier vehicle to live with on a daily basis. Given your limited running and the strong Rs 2.5 lakh discount you are getting on the Carens Clavis, it also represents better overall value.
