The Maruti Suzuki Baleno or even its sister car, the Toyota Glanza, would be a good option to buy. The car is spacious with comfy seats, and it is fuel-efficient too, both the manual and the automatic version (AMT).

In our standard test cycle, we got 13.80kpl and 17.50kpl in our city and highway cycles for the manual, whereas the automated manual transmission (AMT) achieved 11.86kpl and 17.21kpl.

The Baleno sits below 4 meters in length and is compact enough for the city. However, if you would like something smaller, consider the Hyundai Exter. It won't be as efficient, in the manual we got 9kpl and 14kpl for city and highway runs, but this is still good. Also, you will also benefit from a slightly higher seating position and a lower price.

I own two cars: a Brezza petrol TC and a Baleno Zeta CNG. My daily run is 60-70 km in the city, mostly on good roads. I am thinking of replacing the Baleno with another CNG car that has a better driving stance and higher ground clearance, as I sometimes get tired driving the Baleno for long hours. The Brezza is mostly used for outstation family vacations. Please recommend a good CNG car under ₹13 lakhs that is feature-rich and reliable. Some must-have features for me are white LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels, and a good stock speaker system.

I currently own a petrol Hyundai i10 Grand and drive about 200-250 km per month, with outstation trips once every 3-4 months of around 400-500 km. We are a family of four, and I am considering upgrading to a sub-4m petrol automatic SUV within a ₹12-14 lakh budget. We initially considered the new Hyundai Venue, but did not like it. We are now considering the Kia Sonet HTX and Skoda Kushaq Signature Plus Automatic, but I am concerned about Skoda’s maintenance and service network. Considering these cars have different automatic engines and my limited usage, could you please suggest the most suitable option?

The Skoda Kylaq would be a better choice in this comparison. It has enough space for four, and the powertrain is fantastic. The 1.0-litre TSI engine is a joy to drive, and the 6-speed torque converter automatic is smooth to shift. The ride too is better on the Kylaq, and you will enjoy it especially on long drives out of the city. Maintenance for the Skoda isn't what it was some years ago. They are now almost on par with the Koreans, and while a tad more expensive in terms of part costs, the overall service isn't too different. You will enjoy the Kylaq more, and we recommend you go for it.

I currently use an Activa 125 and travel between Delhi and Gurugram (about 30 km one way). The Delhi-Gurugram highway has heavy evening traffic, and the Activa gives me back pain on the return. I want to purchase a new bike or scooter. I am considering the Hunter or Aerox 155, but am confused between the two. The Hunter’s only disadvantage in traffic is gear shifting, while the Aerox has better suspension. Please suggest if I should consider another scooter with better suspension, or if I should go with the Hunter. I have considered the Ronin, but service centre availability is an issue.

The recently updated Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has a super-light clutch action thanks to the slip/assist clutch that RE has equipped it with. Even for a newer rider or a scooterist looking to move to a motorcycle, it shouldn't be that much of an issue in big city traffic. However, if you are looking to stick to a scooter, then we'd advise against the Yamaha Aerox 155 because of its stiff rear suspension. We would recommend scooters like the Suzuki Access and TVS Jupiter models instead, for their good ride comfort and spacious, well-padded seats.
