Hi team, I am currently driving a Honda WR-V diesel and am planning to buy a new car. I am confused between the new Hyundai Venue Diesel automatic and the new Kia Seltos Diesel automatic, and I am looking for the better value for money in terms of fuel economy and maintenance since the Venue top-end price is similar to the Seltos mid-range - please guide.

New Kia Seltos prices are to be announced on 2nd January 2026. We will have to wait for the prices to be out to compare the two. Kia and Hyundai have similar maintenance structures, though Hyundai has many more service centres, adding to the ease of getting your car serviced; their cost structures are similar. Seltos will offer more space in the cabin, and considering that both cars give roughly the same mileage, the mid variants tend to have all the necessary features. We suggest you wait for the Seltos prices to be out to make up your mind.

Honda Elevate gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which churns out 121hp power and 145Nm torque, which is sufficient power for your everyday use. Naturally aspirated engines deliver power in a smooth, linear manner and lack the sudden surge experienced in turbocharged units, and that is often mistaken for a lack of performance when compared to turbos. Power won’t be an issue; the real drawback is at the rear, where the central passenger has to contend with a prominent floor hump and a protruding AC vent, both of which eat into legroom and make long journeys uncomfortable. If travelling with 5 is your priority, we recommend you go with the Hyundai Creta.

You can go ahead with the Nexon EV. We suggest you go for the Nexon EV. Your average daily driving is around 40km, so an MR variant should satisfy your everyday needs.
