I want to buy a 7-seater car, and I like the MG Hector Plus. I like its build quality, interior and price. Should I go for it or look at the Tata Safari or 7XO?

While there's a lot to like about the MG Hector Plus, like its upmarket interior and plush ride comfort, it isn't a spacious or comfortable seven-seater, due to a cramped third row.
The Tata Safari is certainly a better 7-seater SUV. Passengers will be comfortable in all three rows, and this Tata car feels tough and well-built. It is also well-equipped and has a stronger pair of engines - turbo-petrol and diesel.

Go for Hector coz it is much better than Safari and I am telling you from my own experience.i have been owner of Tata xz plus model and I can surely tell u ,it has been a problem for me from day one. From driving comfort like big blind spot in form of A pillar but Tata enthusiast will counter it with 360 camera which provide additional view while turning.i have never used this is overcome blind spot and always felt obstructed and inconvenient. Secondly ,suspension is big flop show including damper. With a six month of purchase ,there was full rattling sound in vehicle and when I visiting service station, they replaced damper . Best part of challenge is getting appointment for servicing, when ever you call for service center ,they will give appointment after 3-4 months. And even then not sure whether you get right resolution there also. My infotainment system was hanging and it took a year for me to get rectified but not fully yet. Morever, my cutchplate got burnt with one year of service and I paid around 70k two times to be rectified and when I asked for warranty, they said it is not covered. There are more such misadventures which i came across after buying this car for 30plus and it is idling in my garrage with no taker. And last but not least ,when I car broke down in middle of road, their RSA did not entertain my call and i had to get my car lifted and reach home. But next day I recieved a call for feedback on service whi h was never rendered. Best part was that when I contacted Tata motors they were dumb and had no resolution. Belive me gentleman, they are good for manufacturing truck and etc and cannot be good fit for us. God help those who go for safari and it's other product.

I am confused between the Tata Safari petrol and the Scorpio N. Which would be better, and what's the major difference between the Tata Safari Pure X and Adventure X Plus?

The Safari's three rows are much more comfortable and spacious than the Mahindra Scorpio N's, and its suspension feels a lot plusher too, making it better to drive as well. Overall, the Tata Safari feels more polished in comparison, hence it gets our vote. The price difference between Pure X and Adventure X Plus variant of the Safari is approximately Rs 1.40 lakh (on-road), with the latter being more expensive. For the premium, the Adventure X Plus variant gets larger 18-inch alloys (vs 17s in the Pure X), drive modes, one-touch up and down driver's power window, electonic parking brake with auto hold, rear defogger, leatherette upholstery and an electric driver's seat with memory. While these are nice to have, none of these features is a deal-maker. Instead, the Pure X variant is very well-equipped and actually a better value for money.

Which mid-size SUV has a spacious rear seat?

Among mid-size SUVs, there are several with genuinely spacious and comfortable rear seats, but the best choice depends a bit on your budget and whether you’ll be chauffeur-driven or driving yourself. At the top end of the segment, the Mahindra XUV 7XO offers a very roomy and supportive rear bench with good legroom and headroom The electric Mahindra XEV 9S goes a step further with a sliding middle row, which lets you prioritise either legroom or boot space as needed, and this adjustability makes a big difference if you often have adults in the back or use a child seat.Lower down the price band, the Tata Sierra stands out for rear seat comfort. It has an exceptionally accommodating back seat with loads of legroom, a natural, slightly elevated seating position and well-cushioned seats that give you that “loungy” feel. It’s the kind of rear bench you can spend hours in without feeling tired. If outright rear space is your priority, though, the MG Hector is still the benchmark. Its rear seat is very wide, so three passengers can sit comfortably, and the flat-ish floor helps as well. The low step-in height makes it easy for elderly passengers to get in and out, and the soft suspension setup does a good job of smoothing out broken urban roads. These traits make the Hector particularly well-suited if the car will be largely chauffeur-driven and rear seat comfort is at the top of your wish list.

Is it a good time to buy the Innova Crysta now, or should I go with the Safari? Which is the better option? I am looking for a 7-seater SUV. Or is there any other option to consider?

While the Toyota Innova Crysta does have its merits, namely reliability and resale value, the Tata Safari is a better choice in almost every other way. The Tata Safari uses a monocoque chassis with independent suspension, which gives it much better ride quality than the ladder-frame chassis and solid rear axle of the Crysta. The Safari also has a more modern interior, is much better equipped, and offers better performance, with the option of an automatic gearbox, which the Crysta no longer has. Considering all of these factors, the Safari would be our pick between the two. However, if you are looking for alternatives, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is a more direct competitor to the Safari. The ride quality with the new Da Vinci suspension is superb. It is better equipped with things like the triple-screen setup as standard, and its diesel engine offers better performance too.
