My daily running is under 40kms and I travel to hills 2 3 times in an year. I am planning to buy an automatic car under 11 lakhs and have 2 cars in my mind which are Tata Nexon amt Pure Plus model and Kiger Techno Turbo CVT model. Which one should I go for?

We are family of 5 and living in a tier-3 city. We are planning to buy a car but are confused between Tata Altroz and Punch. Go for the Tata Punch petrol. With a family of five and a maximum monthly running of 500 km, CNG simply does not make financial sense. The savings are too small to justify the compromises in boot space and convenience. The Punch is the better choice over the Altroz because it offers a higher seating position, better ground clearance and a more robust suspension setup, which is particularly useful in a tier 3 city where road conditions can be unpredictable. It is also easier to get in and out of, which matters for family use. The Altroz is a good hatchback, but the Punch is the more practical and versatile option for your needs. As for ethanol, modern engines are engineered with tolerance for higher ethanol blends, and there is no official roadmap beyond E20. The impact is mainly a slight reduction in fuel economy, not a reliability concern.

I’m 65 and am considering the Mahindra BE 6, Tata Sierra EV, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. I particularly want ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera. I am not very concerned about performance or technical aspects and instead want an EV that is comfortable and easy for me to drive. My usage will include both city driving and long-distance trips. Based on your requirements, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara would be our recommendation. It offers a comfortable cabin, especially up front, a relaxed driving experience and a good suite of comfort features.The Mahindra BE 6 has the edge on performance, while the Tata Sierra EV has more space, and both offer a longer real-world range, but they are also considerably more expensive and, for your requirements, not worth the extra outlay. The e-Vitara is a good all-rounder, with more than sufficient range, and also the comfort features you seek - ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera.The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is the same as the e-Vitara but more expensive, and again, it doesn't justify its premium. Overall, the e-Vitara strikes the best balance between comfort, features and ease of ownership for your needs.

The Hyryder is still a good car, but the Elevate is the more complete package for this brief.

I am new to driving and am looking for a sub-4-metre petrol SUV with a torque converter automatic gearbox. My budget is around Rs 12-13 lakh on-road. I have shortlisted two options: the Skoda Kylaq Signature automatic and the Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro automatic. We are a family of five. My current usage is mostly within the city, but based on my future work requirements, it could shift to an 80:20 mix of city and highway driving.

For a new driver with predominantly city use, its 1.0 TSI with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic is smooth and easy to drive, while the compact dimensions make it relatively easy to manage in traffic. It also has a more mature, planted feel on the highway.The Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro AT is the better choice if rear-seat space is the priority. Its cabin is wider and more accommodating for a family of five, and its 1.2 turbo-petrol makes 200Nm, giving it stronger low-end and mid-range performance than the Kylaq.However, the 3XO's boot is also one of its compromises, while the Kylaq offers a better balance of driving dynamics, boot space and highway manners. With your usage potentially becoming 80:20 city/highway, the Kylaq's combination works particularly well.

Which car should I buy among Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Petrol base or Kia Seltos petrol base? And also tell me if anyone has faced power issue or pickup issue while overtaking as I want the car for long term.

Between the two, the Seltos is the better choice, especially if you are looking at the base variant. It feels more premium, is the newer product and offers a more complete package even in its lower variants.The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol makes 115hp and 144Nm. It isn't a particularly powerful engine, but it is smooth and refined and is perfectly adequate for normal city driving.For overtaking, it won't have the punch of the Seltos turbo, but it isn't underpowered either. With a full load and during quick highway overtakes, you may need to plan ahead and use higher revs. The Grand Vitara's 1.5 petrol is also a smooth, simple powertrain, but its performance is more relaxed and the base variant is quite sparsely equipped.
