Should I go with either Monster V2 2026 or Triumph Speed Twin 900 as someone coming from Karizma R220 and looking for the same riding style with lesser kerb weight? Please advise.

It is quite unfair to compare a bonafide sporty naked like the Ducati Monster V2 with the relaxed neo-retro that is the Triumph Speed Twin 900 - both also have about a Rs. 4 lakh price difference, so there's also that.  

If you are looking for a sporty riding experience then the Monster V2 should fit that bill much better than the Triumph, although we are yet to ride the latest Monster so we can't pass a definitive verdict on just how good it is yet. The Triumph Speed Twin 900, on the other hand, is a modern classic with a more relaxed riding position and a heavier, more substantial feel. It is a lovely bike in its own right, but it is not as focused or as sporty as the Monster. 

Again, these are two very different machines and choosing between them will come down to what sort of a rider you are as well as if you are able to stretch your budget to accomodate the Ducati.

I am a new rider and am planning to buy the new Honda Rebel with the e-Clutch as my first bike. Should I go for the Rebel 300 or wait for the Rebel 500 which is expected to launch next February? I do not want a heavy bike like my brother's Super Meteor 650. I just want something cool and fun to ride. Also, will I be comfortable on a Rebel as I am 6 feet tall?

If this is to be your very first motorcycle, it makes more sense to go for the smaller Honda Rebel 300 over the bigger 500, although the 500 can also work as your first bike if you plan to keep it for many years but the learning curve will be quite steep in the initial days of your motorcycling journey. Both the Rebel models are much lighter than the comparable Royal Enfield bike so weight really isn't the issue. Coming to whether you will fit on the Rebel, we can't yet comment on that as we haven't been able to spend some quality seat time on either of them. We suggest you wait until both are available in a showroom near you and take a test ride before you make a decision.

Daily Bangalore city driving of about 30km. My options are: 1. Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro AT (Rs 11 lakh on-road) 2. Maruti Brezza VXi AT (Rs 13 lakh on-road). Which is the more sensible and value-for-money pick?

If the Rs 13 lakh price is ok with you, opt for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi AT. In terms of features, it gets all the basic features along with a few more, like automatic climate control, so you're well catered for. This Maruti car also offers a more plush and pliant ride at low city speeds and will be the more fuel-efficient of the two. Given Maruti’s service reach, dealer quality and long-term reliability reputation it a safe choice.However, opt for the Mahindra XUV 3XO in case you need to seat three at the rear, as it has a wider rear seat. It's also the one to go for if driving pleasure is what you want, as the engine is livelier and, on the whole, it is a more entertaining car to drive, and of course if you are on a tight budget.

Hello, I’m at a crossroads about whether to go with the Bear 650, Tuono 457, or KTM Adventure 350/390. I’m looking for a machine that is convenient to ride in the city, has solid long-distance touring capability, and offers a bit of off-road fun. I’ve been riding an Avenger for over 15 years now. I’m 5'8" tall and weigh 70 kg. From a design and appeal perspective, I prefer understated, muscular motorcycles.

Since you have listed long-distance capability and off-road fun as some of your priorities, that in itself rules out the sporty Aprilia Tuono 457 and the heavy Royal Enfield Bear 650 (at least to some extent). The 349cc/398cc KTM Adventure models are a better fit for your brief, and we'd wholeheartedly recommend spending the extra cash and going for whichever 398cc variant you like because the 349cc version just feels a little too boring to ride and has quite a bit of vibration too. Honestly, we'd recommend you also consider the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 because, while the Himalayan isn't the best at any particular aspect, the way it comes together as a package is quite commendable, and if you don't mind its extra weight, it can make for a wonderful companion. Take test rides of both the Himalayan and 390 Adventure before you make up your mind.

The ZXi variant is well equipped, the naturally aspirated petrol engine is smooth and dependable, and the car is easy to drive in the city while still being comfortable on highways. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris VXi is also a good option, but the Brezza feels like a more complete package with a stronger ownership track record. The Hyundai Creta EX is a good car, but at this price point you are getting a lower variant with fewer features, and the Brezza ZXi offers better value for money. Overall, the Brezza ZXi strikes the best balance between reliability, running costs, features and long-term peace of mind.

Which is the better buy: a second-hand first-generation KTM 390 Duke from 2015 for Rs 1.3 lakh, or a new Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z for Rs 2.4 lakh?

This is a very valid question, but in our opinion it deserves a closer look at both motorcycles. The used Gen 1 KTM 390 Duke is a raw, unadulterated pocket rocket, but considering it is nearly 12 years old, you will surely have to spend much more on maintenance and perhaps replace worn-out parts, which will not only be expensive but also time-consuming, as some spares for older discontinued KTMs have started to get a little difficult to obtain.The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, on the other hand, will be a brand new bike with a warranty, compatible with E20 fuel and a far more relaxed ownership experience. It is also a genuinely quick and capable motorcycle in its own right, and while it may not have the same raw edge as the old 390 Duke, it is a far more sensible long-term purchase.This is sort of a head vs heart situation, and if you have more than one bike in your garage, then sure, go for the KTM, but if this is to be your sole mode of transport or only two-wheeler, the Bajaj bike is the more logical purchase.
