Hello, I am planning to buy a 6-seater car, and the MG Hector Savvy Pro Petrol Automatic is what I liked the most. Is it a good choice? Are there any other 6-seater options? The MG Hector Savvy Pro petrol automatic is a good choice. It’s spacious, comfortable and very well-equipped for the price. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with the CVT is smooth, especially in stop-and-go city driving, which makes it easy to live with daily. The captain seats in the middle row are genuinely comfortable, and adding to the comfort is the soft ride quality, along with the relatively low step-in height, which makes getting in and out quite easy for family members.

The main downside of the Hector is fuel efficiency. If your running is limited, you can live with it, but if you frequently do long drives, the higher fuel consumption will show. Also, the suspension is tuned on the softer side. While that helps with comfort, at highway speeds, it doesn’t feel as planted or as confidence-inspiring as something like the Tata Safari.

In your budget, the Safari is really the only other proper 6-seater with middle-row captain seats worth considering. This Tata car is also spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is smooth and strong enough for most needs, and the Safari feels more stable at higher speeds. It also gets a useful “Boss Mode,” which allows the rear passenger to electrically move the front passenger seat forward for more legroom.

The segment as I understand you are looking at is full size SUV. MG Hector plus Savvy Pro petrol automatic is good choice, the fit finish and interiors are best in class. Looks inside out, the space, its is good at 22.5 Lacs (Delhi onroad). But engine is underpowered, also the 3rd row is too low to sit. Safari petrol lowest variant is Accomplished plus that comes with 6 seater captain seats but its close to 28 Lacs, has a new engine which is again underpowered and tata safari always has issues here and there, showroom experience, service experience is not good. Moreover safari hits the potholes with loud noise. But 3rd row is best in safari. Another option Xuv700 the most powerful engine in the competition with captain seats, but again showroom experience, service experience, waiting periods are not good also you will need to stretch the budget as it is 25.5 Lacs for A7T Auto 6 seater variant. One more option is Toyota Hycross GX (O)AT at 23.5 Lacs but it has just basic features, Good chauffer driven with ample space and middle row captain seats, the 3rd row has good space along with some space for luggage. The seat can also become a flat bed 1st 2nd 3rd row down together on long drives if needed.

Hi, I am stuck between two cars with specific models: Tata Safari Adventure+ (Petrol, Automatic TC) at ₹22.62 lakh and Kia Carens Clavis 2025 model HTX(O), DVT petrol at ₹22.06 lakh (I am getting ₹2.5 lakh discount for the 2025 model in Gravity Grey). I plan to keep the car for the next 15 years. I live in a nearby town of Bangalore and don’t drive inside the city much. It's mostly towns and highways, with occasional city visits to malls. Average driving is less than 1000 km monthly. The 7-seater requirement is just a few times a year (when I club my sister's family).

Between the two, the Kia Carens Clavis HTX(O) petrol automatic is the better choice. It will feel easier to drive on highways and around town, and since you only need the third row a few times a year, its seating layout will work perfectly well without carrying the size and weight of a larger SUV every day.The Tata Safari does offer stronger road presence and a higher seating position, but it is a bigger and heavier vehicle to live with on a daily basis. Given your limited running and the strong Rs 2.5 lakh discount you are getting on the Carens Clavis, it also represents better overall value.

I am planning to buy a 7-seater, and my running is not very regular. Sometimes, for a long time, I don’t drive much, but when I do, I may cross 1000 km in a single trip. I need good space in the 3rd row as well. Which one should I prefer: Mahindra XUV 7XO or Tata Safari? I need full comfort and luxury, and my budget is around ₹35 lakh.

Its second row can slide forward and backwards, which helps create more legroom for passengers sitting in the third row. This flexibility makes the last row easier to use for adults on longer journeys.The Mahindra XUV 7XO, on the other hand, offers stronger performance and more features, especially in the higher variants. Unfortunately, these days there is something of a void in the Rs 30-40 lakh price bracket, with all the models that existed here having either moved into a higher price range or been discontinued altogether. At the lower end of things, you could consider the Tata Safari, which is spacious, well-equipped, and crucially, very comfortable for all passengers. Its 2.0-litre diesel engine is a little noisy, but it is strong and efficient if driven carefully. At the other end of the spectrum, in the Rs 50 lakh range, is the MG Gloster. It is soon to be succeeded by the MG Majestor, but even the outgoing car is big on space, comfort and luxury, with a third row that's genuinely usable. It too has a strong 2.0-litre diesel engine that provides effortless torque to move this large vehicle.
