Wish to buy Scorpio N. How is the resale, and is diesel best?

Resale value depends on multiple factors such as the age and condition of the vehicle. However, in general, the Mahindra Scorpio N has a very good resale value due to strong demand in the new car space and its good brand value.

We would recommend the diesel over the petrol engine as it delivers very well on the performance front but is very refined, and of course, will offer you better efficiency than the petrol.

Go for it man .. I have diesel Automatic it's been 2 years now and I am fully satisfied with it earlier I booked petrol one and yes Diesel any day as Mahindra has more expertise in diesel engines and the new Scorpio N has very fine tuning. Average is a add on comparatively petrol engine. If you have a soft pedal even with less running you'll get 10-12 average in upto a 30km drive in city mode (zip) on highway long drives 14-17 km per Litre. @ 90-100 kmph. Steering wheel is butter. Air conditioning Gold. In massive traffic hours obvious all these automatic cars and such bulky vehicle comes down to 8-9/km per anyways. Other factors like Ownership cost which includes running cost ,servicing, parts availability all good also depends on service centre and your relationship with the manager. But this is one of the best SUV in it's price segment.

Since your monthly running is on the higher side, a diesel SUV would make sense. The newly updated Hyundai Venue in HX 5 trim would fit in your budget and is a big upgrade from the WagonR. The engine is refined, frugal and tried and tested, and should you get the manual gearbox, it has a light clutch that makes it easy in traffic. The HX 5 also gets a good level of kit, like a sunroof, cruise control, touchscreen, reversing sensors, TPMS, etc. The ride quality is good too, and it has a decent-sized boot for outstation trips. Hyundai's after-sales network is also one of the best, and it would be a hassle-free ownership experience.

I currently own a 2018 Honda WR-V diesel manual (6-speed), which has run about 50,000 km, along with a Tata EV purchased in 2023, which has covered around 20,000 km. I have now decided to replace my WR-V with a BS6 diesel automatic car. Could you please suggest which diesel automatic model would be the best choice according to Autocar?

I am looking to buy a car for my parents, who do not drive, so it will mostly be chauffeur-driven. My main priority is rear seat comfort. We are upgrading from a 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. The 506‑litre boot easily swallows luggage for highway runs. ZX adds 6 airbags and ADAS with adaptive cruise control, useful on long highways. The CVT’s smooth creep and no shift‑shock make occasional city use easy.
