I have been very happy with the Honda City and drive only about 5,000km a year. I now need to purchase a new car, but am unable to decide between the Honda Elevate and the Honda City.

The Honda City and Elevate are similar in many respects, and the choice largely comes down to your preferred body style. The Elevate, with its higher ground clearance, is better suited to handling the unpredictability of Indian roads. Its practical boot (though City has a larger boot on paper, but Elevate's boot is easier to use), high seating position, and airy cabin are added advantages. The Elevate also gets a larger touchscreen and a more modern interior layout. So we would suggest go for Honda Elevate.

I want to buy a car for my parents (both around 60 years old). The monthly running will be about 1,000km. We are looking for an automatic with good mileage, and the budget is ₹15-18 lakh. Should we consider an EV?

You can consider an electric car if you have access to home charging and most of your driving is within the city. While EV charging infrastructure on highways is growing rapidly, it remains unreliable, so if your parents need to travel extensively on highways, trips will require careful planning to ensure hassle-free travel. If you do decide to go electric, the MG Windsor EV Pro is a good option. It comes with a 52.9kWh battery and a claimed range of 449km. You can expect a real-world range of around 350-370km. This MG car is spacious, has wide-opening doors that make ingress and egress easy, and offers a comfortable ride, making it well-suited to your requirements.

I own a Kia Seltos HTX Plus (diesel) and am facing frequent issues related to diesel particulate filter regeneration. I would like to switch to another car in the same segment, but I am confused about what to buy. Please advise.

DPF-related issues are common in modern diesel cars, especially when they are used primarily in city stop-go traffic, so your frustration is understandable. Shifting to a petrol car makes sense. You can consider the Tata Sierra 1.5 turbo-petrol with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine is refined, offers strong performance, and the gear shifts are smooth. This Tata car looks stunning, is packed with features, and offers a spacious cabin.

I am using Creta Diesel since 2016. My average running is 2000 kms per month and mostly highways. Need a suggestion for vehicle under 16 lacs. Priority is comfort and low running cost. Should I go for diesel or petrol.

For your kind of driving, a diesel car makes better sense. Since you have been driving the Hyundai Creta diesel, you can either opt for the Creta again or consider the Mahindra Scorpio N, though you may need to stretch your budget to get a variant with the features you want.If you need to stay within your budget, the Hyundai Venue diesel is a good alternative. It uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116hp and is refined with low noise levels. The ride quality is comfortable and will keep you comfortable on your long drives.
