I have two cars: one is a Skoda Slavia, and the other is a 5-year-old Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sportz automatic. My monthly running is around 1,000-1,200 km. What would be a better choice for my second car?

I am 56 years old and am thinking of upgrading to an SUV. I currently own Maruti Suzuki Baleno that I had purchased in June 2016. The car is in good running condition and has completed 88,000 km till date. Should I upgrade my car now or wait for another 2 years to get a new vehicle? The company’s hybrid strategy is expected to focus on petrol-based strong hybrids and range extenders, rather than diesel plug-in hybrids.Diesel plug-in hybrids are also relatively rare globally because they are complex and expensive to develop, and the emissions benefits are not as clear-cut as with petrol hybrids. Mahindra’s diesel engines are already very efficient, and the company is more likely to focus on petrol hybrids and range extenders for future hybrid models.So while Mahindra is definitely working on hybrids, a diesel plug-in hybrid Scorpio N or Scorpio Lifestyler is unlikely at this stage.

I am confused between Creta SX IVT and Elevate CVT for 8000 km of annual running with long trips of 1200 km 3-4 times in a year for a family of 4. Apart from this, day to day usage is less than 100km per month. I am looking for a car for long term ownership and travel comfort.
