Which between the diesel Vento and diesel Verna is better in terms of highway runs and fuel economy?

Karthik, via email

AAA If you drive predominantly on the highway, then the VW Vento is better than the Verna because it feels much more stable and secure at high speeds. Poor high speed dynamics is one of the weaknesses of the Verna, which is otherwise a very competent package. In terms of fuel efficiency, there is not much to choose between the two cars, but the Verna’s extra sixth gear makes it a touch more efficient at cruising speeds.
