I own a 2003 Maruti Suzuki Brezza LXi. Due to low fuel economy, I want to upgrade. My current mileage is 8 kpl in the city and 14 kpl on the highway, which I find low. Please suggest alternatives.

If fuel economy is a priority for you and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza LXi was not satisfactory on that front, you should consider switching to a different powertrain. The HX2 1.5 Diesel MT variant of the new Hyundai Venue is rated at a strong 20.99kpl on the ARAI cycle and is priced at ₹9.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
You could also consider moving up to a strong hybrid vehicle for even greater fuel economy, such as the VXI Strong Hybrid variant of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, though it would require a higher budget.

I am currently using a 10-year-old Classic 350. It is still fine, but I want to change it now. My budget is Rs 2.5 lakh, and I am considering the Honda NX200 or the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250. Please suggest which one to choose. I am open to other recommendations as well. I am not looking for a bike with an aggressive riding posture.

Since you are looking at ADV-style bikes, we recommend you consider the TVS Apache RTX 300, as it will be available within your budget. The RTX is a comfortable, feature-loaded, and powerful motorcycle that is priced close to smaller, less feature-rich bikes and therefore warrants serious consideration. If you want to stick with a Japanese brand instead, between the Honda NX200 and Suzuki V-Strom SX you've shortlisted, the Suzuki makes for the better all-rounder. Take a test ride of these three to see which one suits you best.

I want to buy a petrol car below Rs 7-8 lakh for about 5,000 km of running per annum. Please suggest a model. I do not want to buy Maruti, MG, Mahindra, Honda, Nissan, Skoda, Volkswagen, Kia, or any Chinese-made car.

With Maruti out, you have limited options in this budget, and you will have to compromise on either space or features. Nevertheless, you can consider either the Tata Punch 1.2 Petrol or the Hyundai Exter 1.2 petrol AMT.The Tata Punch was updated recently, so you get a fresh-looking car with updated interiors. You can opt for the Tata Punch Pure+ variant, which comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and more. It also offers a tough feel and has one of the better suspension setups in the segment. In case you want to choose automatic, opt for the Hyundai Exter. It has one of the smoothest AMTs and comes with more or less the same features as Punch.

Hi, I want to buy an SUV with more power than the Hyundai Creta. The main purpose is to go on trips to the hills - I don’t need serious off-roading. I want a plush, reasonably fuel-efficient SUV; I don’t need a six-seater. My budget is around ₹20-25 lakhs. I live in Delhi - does a diesel vehicle make sense for average annual driving of 10-12k km?

Since you want more power than your current Hyundai Creta, the best option for you is the recently launched Mahindra XUV 7XO.Considering your Delhi NCR location and your limited running of under 12,000 km a year, we would recommend the petrol version. The turbo petrol engine is powerful, refined, and delivers effortless performance, making it a clear upgrade over your Creta.Given Delhi conditions, we would also suggest the 6-speed torque converter automatic. It is smooth, quick shifting, and will make daily driving far less stressful. With the facelift, Mahindra has also improved the ride quality, added more features, and overall, the 7XO feels more premium and modern inside and out.Within your budget, you can go for the AX7 variant, which is well-loaded and comes with all the features you would expect at this price point.
