Turin, the centre of the universe for automotive designers. How would you, budding designer, like to be there, be a part of the next big thing in car design?
The Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) of Turin, Italy’s premier design school, is offering Autocar India readers two scholarships — the three-year post-diploma course and the Master of Arts in Transportation Design (see box) — worth a total of Euro 42,400.
We’re sure everyone wants to go but as there are a limited number of seats, we’re running a competition to separate the Bangle from the bungle.
All you have to do to take part is send in your ‘Best Urban Car for India’, taking inspiration from an existing automotive brand of your choice. The entries will be assessed by a panel of judges from IED and the winners will be notified by e-mail.
This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Ladies and gentlemen, start your pencils.
How to take part in the contest:
- Create a freehand drawing (15x20 cm at 300 dpi) of your Best Urban Car for India, using a technique of your choice.
- For the three-year post-diploma course, design your project by developing one perspective of your choosing.
- For the Master of Arts in Transportation Design course, send us four perspectives — one side-perspective sketch, one front three-quarter sketch, a rear three-quarter sketch and one-side perspective from above.
- Send in your project to iedprojects@autocarindia.com with the subject

| THE COURSES |
| The three-year post-diploma course in Transportation Design offers two different courses: the car designer and the bike, yacht and train designer. The course begins in October 2010 and lessons for the first year will be held in English. From the second year on, lessons will be in Italian and the institute is offering a free course of Italian language.
