Check challan

Telangana runs one of the highest e-challan volumes in the country, and it’s also one of the few states where the fine you actually pay is often well below the central rate. Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda between them cover almost all of the state’s enforcement, with ANPR cameras doing most of the catching. Vehicle numbers start with TS followed by a two digit district code, for example TS09AB1234.

Fines and variations: Telangana notifies its own rates for a long list of offences, on top of an automatic discount by vehicle type.

On top of these Telangana-specific rates, an automatic discount applies by vehicle type once a challan is generated: 80 percent off for two-wheelers and autos, 60 percent off for four-wheelers, and 90 percent off for RTC buses. So a Rs 200 helmet challan on a two-wheeler works out to Rs 40 payable, for example.

Telangana also runs periodic Lok Adalat settlement drives where old pending challans can be cleared at a discount. Four sessions are scheduled in 2026: 28 March, 9 May, 12 September, and 12 December, run through the Telangana State Legal Services Authority at tslsa.telangana.gov.in.

Telangana notifies its own reduced rates for many offences, and then applies an automatic discount on top based on vehicle type, so the final payable amount is often well below both the central rate and the notified Telangana rate.

It’s a periodic scheme where the Telangana State Legal Services Authority lets you settle old pending challans at a discount on specific dates through the year, rather than paying the full amount at any time.
