Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition launched

Porsche has introduced a ‘Platinum’ edition of the Cayenne, a rival to luxury SUVs like the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE. The special-edition Cayenne models are priced at Rs 1.07 crore for the petrol and Rs 1.09 crore for the diesel (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).

New features on the limited-run Cayenne include 20-inch RS Spyder-style alloy wheels, while the SUV’s interior gets electric eight-way adjustable, leather sport seats and stainless steel door sills with 'Platinum Edition' engraving. Additionally, the car can also be had in a Purpurite Metallic paint scheme. There are no mechanical changes to the SUV. The Platinum Edition of the petrol Porsche Cayenne is powered by a 300hp, 3.6-litre, V6 engine, while the diesel variant is powered by a 245hp, 3.0-litre, V6, both of which are engines from the regular car.

Standard features on the car include the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a seven-inch touchscreen, navigation and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system is paired with a Surround Sound system from Bose. The SUV also gets bi-xenon headlights, adaptive air-suspension, and a four-zone climate control.

Deliveries for the cars are set to commence in August 2016.
