Toyota has revealed the facelifted Corolla prior to the model’s international debut later this year. The facelifted car receives a styling update along with the addition of features for the international markets, which are expected to come to India as well.

The updated Altis gets a revised front fascia with a single-slat chrome grille flanked by new sleeker-looking headlamps. The front bumper is all-new with a large central air dam and recessed fog lamps. At the back, there are new LED tail-lamps and a revised bumper as well. The car sits on new design alloy wheels.

In terms of features, the revised Corolla Altis gets LED headlamps with daytime running lamps on the top- spec model along with the addition of safety systems such as lane departure alert, automatic high beam and a pre-collision system – a radar-based tech that preemptively tightens the seat belts and pre-charges the brakes in case of an unavoidable collision. No details have been revealed about the car’s engines.

The Corolla Altis facelift is expected to arrive on Indian shores following its international launch. The car is likely to use the same 1.8-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines as in the current model and is also expected to miss out on the radar-based safety systems.

The Corolla Altis is sold internationally in two versions with unique styling. The facelifted Corolla for the North American markets feature styling that more in line with the new Prius. India is expected to receive the facelifted version of the Corolla sold in Europe and Australia. Images of the two revised Corollas were leaked online earlier in January showing the difference in styling of the two versions.
