Mercedes-Benz has launched new trims of its C- and E-class saloons, called the C 220 CDI and the E 220 CDI Sport Editions.

Available in Polar White paint shade, the Sport Edition variants feature AMG body kits with front and rear bumper aprons, side skirts, a black painted roof and a Sport badge. The C-class Sport comes with 17-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, while the E-class Sport gets bigger, 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.

On the inside, the saloons come with Artico upholstery with black piano lacquer trim for the C and a Burr Walnut wood trim for the E-class. The Sport Editions also get electric seats, Mercedes’ THERMATIC automatic climate control and an Audio 20 system with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity. The saloons continue to sport safety features like six airbags, ABS with ESP, Acceleration skid control, brake assist, Direct control suspension and Attention assist (for E-class only), Pre–Safe, Neck Pro and a tyre pressure loss warning system.

There are no changes on the mechanical front, and both saloons continue to be powered by the same 170bhp four-cylinder, 2143cc diesel motor, coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Debashis Mitra, director, sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz India commented, “The Sport Edition of the C-Class and the E-Class sedans are highly exclusive products with AMG exterior styling, and host of other sporty features for which a Mercedes-Benz is renowned for. These launches are part of our product offensive in providing newer products and newer variants of existing products to our discerning customers.”

The C 220 CDI Sport Edition is priced at Rs 29.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the E 220 CDI Sport Edition costs Rs 39.9 lakh.
