German luxury car manufacturer Audi has reported that it has sold 4000 cars during January to June, 2012. This represents a 43 percent growth in comparison to the corresponding period last year, when it sold 2802 cars.

Its sales for June 2012 stand at 718 cars over 408 cars for June 2011, a jump of 76 percent. Audi claims that the Q3 SUV was an important factor in its sales growth, with 500 bookings recorded in five days. In response to the demand, Audi has now reopened bookings for an additional 500 cars.

The company claims that it is well on its way to a sales prediction of 8000 cars sold by the end of the year and it plans to expand its dealership network to 25, from an existing 19 centres, to achieve its target.
