2016 Volkswagen Vento Preferred edition launched

Volkswagen has launched a new Preferred edition on the Vento with the car aimed at corporate buyers. The Preferred edition includes a host of equipment for an additional cost of roughly Rs 50,000 hoping to provide a better value buy. The equipment on offer are alloy wheels, side body mouldings, a blacked-out rood, leather upholstery, a portable navigation system and a reverse-parking camera.

Volkswagen initially stated that the model will be based only on the mid-level Comfortline trim, but a company official told us that the Preferred edition can be opted across all trim levels of the Vento line-up.

The Preferred edition is also available with an entire range of engines and gearboxes available on the Vento. It has, however, not been specified if the car uses the updated 110hp diesel engine that was added to the line-up recently.

Volkswagen previously offered a Vento Preferred edition in 2014, with the model then an attempt by the company to clear old stocks by adding in more equipment and marketing it as a special edition.
