Honda has teased the all-new Accord via images of a camouflaged test mule, along with details about the upcoming model prior to its global debut later this year.

Honda said that the next-gen Accord will not feature a V6 engine, with the sedan set to receive the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Civic Type R. Also available will be an entry-level, turbocharged 1.5 litre, four-cylinder engine common in the Civic and the CR-V. The next-gen model will be offered with a choice of gearboxes, including a six-speed manual gearbox and a new 10-speed automatic unit – a first for a front-wheel-drive sedan. The automaker has also confirmed a Hybrid variant, which the automaker claims will be more refined that the present model.

In terms of styling, while the images released by Honda reveal little, the automaker claims that the next-gen Accord’s design will be “new-from-the-ground-up” and will feature a more aggressive stance and proportions than its predecessor.

While the next-gen model is expected to go on sale internationally by the end of the year, there is yet no news on an India launch with Honda only having launched the current Accord last year.
