SsangYong’s compact SUV, codenamed the X100, has been revealed as a production model, christened Tivoli. This name has interestingly been inspired by the city of Tivoli in Italy.

The XIV-Air and the XIV-Adventure were designed based on the new SsangYong design language. Looking at the pictures that have been revealed, the design of the final car resembles the one on the concept cars. The XIV-Air was sportier, while the XIV-Adventure incorporated more off-road inspired elements. The Tivoli is a combination of both the Air and the Adventure.

On the inside, the cabin is rather well-equipped, with a large touchscreen as a part of the infotainment system, a flat bottomed steering wheel, and an easy-to-read multi-information display. Seven airbags, a dual-zone climate control and a rearview camera will be offered on the top-specced international car, however, the one for India might only get some of these features.

Engine wise, 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol and diesel units are rumored to make its way to the Tivoli, however there is no official word from the Korean carmaker on that front. A hybrid version of the car, which combines the diesel engine with an electric one is also in the works, reportedly.

The Tivoli is expected to be officially unveiled in Korea in January 2015, and to go on sale internationally towards the end of the second quarter. It will come to India towards the end of 2015.
