Chevrolet Tavera, that was pulled out of BS IV cities, will soon make a comeback. This time, it will be powered by a sub- 2.0-litre common-rail diesel engine that will be sourced from local car manufacturer, Sonalika.

Tavera’s earlier 2.5-litre engine failed to meet with the BS IV emission norms and this forced GM to pull the plug on the MPV from the BSIV cities. This resulted in a steep decline in the sales of the MPV.

With GM’s new plan for the Tavera, the ageing MPV will get a new lease of life. By the end of this year, the car will be launched with a BSIV-compliant engine with a max power of 100bhp. This is the same engine that powers Sonalika’s own offering, the Rhino.
