Nissan has unveiled a revised X-Trail, making changes to the exterior and interior styling, as well as improvements to its diesel engine.

The most noticeable changes are at the front, where a redesigned grille features alongside new bumper and headlight designs. New LED lights feature at the rear, while the X-Trail’s Cd is reduced from 0.36 to 0.35 thanks to optimised underbody aerodynamics.

The wheel arches are now more pronounced to house new 18-inch alloy wheels; 17-inch wheels are also available. All these styling changes have resulted in a 10mm growth in length, height and width.

Inside, more soft-touch materials are added to improve cabin quality, while new materials are used on the seats, too. Redesigned rear seats result in 10mm more knee room for rear passengers.

Significant updates to the 2.0 dCi diesel engine result in Euro 5 compliance. The manual gearbox has revised ratios for improved performance and economy, while the auto’ has been modified to reduce friction. A gear change indicator is also added to help the driver optimise economy.

Sales start in October, with full pricing and specification being confirmed nearer the launch date.
