Land Rover unveiled the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic, a sportier version of the Range Rover Evoque SUV, which will get more power and better handling. The new Evoque Autobiography Dynamic will go on sale in the international markets by the end of 2014.

The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic comes with an upgraded version of the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor which will produce 281bhp, 44bhp more than the standard version. The engine is mated to a new nine-speed ZF-sourced automatic gearbox. The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic also gets an uprated steering which, according to the manufacturer, has been specially tuned for greater on-centre precision. There are tweaks to suspension geometry and also on offer are firmer springs and recalibrated dampers. This, according to Land Rover, will help with increased agility and turn-in response, without impacting ride quality.

Additional performance oriented changes include the Active all-wheel drive system and Torque Vectoring by Braking (TVB) as standard. The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic also gets upgraded 350mm front brake discs.

The new car will be available in both three and five-door configurations, globally. Other distinctive elements that separate the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic from the rest of the range is its new grille design, the 20-inch alloy wheels and a unique Phoenix Orange paint shade. The interior gets six leather shades on offer, along with an option of sports or premium climate seats.

The Evoque Dynamic will also feature the new Land Rover InControl app which, when downloaded to a smartphone, will allow the driver to operate apps on a connected Apple or Android device via the vehicle’s touchscreen.

However, it is understood that plans for an RS-badged hot Evoque have been shelved. The model was originally tipped to use a 300bhp version of the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. Land Rover has sold 270,000 units of the Evoque since the model was launched in 2011.
