Porsche has revealed its latest special edition 911, the Black Edition. The Porsche 911 Black Edition is based on the Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet models and has a black theme running throughout.

All editions come in plain black as standard, with Basalt Black metallic optional. The folding fabric roof of the cabriolet models will come in black, while the colour is also used for brake callipers, leather interior, instrument cluster, thick-rimmed SportDesign steering wheel and rear centre console.

Non-black features on Black Edition models include 19-inch Turbo II alloy wheels and aluminium-look painted trim for the fascia strip, gear lever and air vents. A 13-speaker (12 on cabriolet models) BOSE surround-sound stereo is fitted as standard to the Black Edition, while sat-nav, ParkAssist, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and automatic dimming mirrors are also included.

Power comes from a 340bhp 3.6-litre flat-six engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. Black Edition coupe models can get from 0-100kph in 4.9sec and reach a top speed of 290kph (company claimed). Options include a PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the Sport Chrono Plus package including Launch Control and the Porsche Active Suspension Management system.

Just 1911 models will be sold worldwide when sales begin in April.
