New Honda City diesel and petrol variant details

Here’s a round up of all the features in the new Honda City petrol and diesel variants and the one that we think makes the most sense to buy.

New Honda City petrol gets a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox while the diesel is available only with a 6-speed manual.

The new 2014 Honda City is available in five trims - E, S, SV, V and VX – in both the diesel and petrol versions.

The base E variant comes with safety features such as a driver airbag and ABS with EBD. Additional features include front and rear power windows, electric wing mirrors, power steering with tilt, and a body-coloured front grille. The Honda City E petrol is priced at Rs 7.42 lakh, while the Honda City E diesel retails at Rs 8.62 lakh.

The Honda City S comes with all the features of the Honda City E, but in addition, gets an integrated audio system with a 3.5-inch screen and four speakers, steering-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth telephony, driver’s seat height adjust, a rear defogger, keyless entry system, and body-coloured wing mirrors and outer door handles. The Honda City S petrol is priced at Rs 8.04 lakh, while the Honda City S diesel costs Rs 9.24 lakh.

The third variant in the new Honda City line-up is the Honda City SV. This variant adds a front chrome passenger airbag, front chrome grille, automatic air-conditioning with a touchscreen control panel and rear AC vents, cruise control, a shark-fin antenna, steering controls, Bluetooth telephony, and a front and rear centre armrest. The Honda City SV petrol variant is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh, while the City SV diesel is priced at Rs 9.66 lakh. This variant is also available with a CVT gearbox, which is priced at Rs 9.49 lakh.
