  • Will get more safety tech than its predecessor

New Ford Everest (Endeavour): what's to know?

Starting with the design, the new images reveal the SUV’s grille and headlamp design. Like in previous iterations, the boxy and upright front is similar to the new Ranger, with the main difference being the revised front bumper. Along the sides, the notable changes start from behind the front doors accounting for the model's three-row SUV design. The next-gen SUV also gets a stronger shoulder line, though interestingly, the window line remains similar to the outgoing model.

While the rear of the car isn't seen here, previous images of test mules reveal a new look with a raked tailgate and LED elements on the tail-lamps, which have been redesigned.

Inside, one can expect the same layout as the new Ranger, replete with a large central portrait-oriented touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Expect the new Everest to pack in more tech than the current model as well.

Under the hood, depending on the markets, the Everest (Endeavour) could be offered with a similar set of engines as the new Ranger, including the 2.0-litre diesel carried over from the current model and a new 3.0-litre diesel V6. Gearbox options are expected to include both manual and automatic units.

New Ford Everest (Endeavour): will it come to India?

With Ford having pulled the plug on its manufacturing operations here, it remains to be seen if the new Everest could be launched in India. The carmaker is gearing to move towards a CBU-only line-up from its international portfolio, with the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E confirmed to arrive in the coming years. The current-gen SUV was locally manufactured and went up against the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
