The new S-class has got fresh design on the outside that starts with the pronounced arrow shaped radiator grille, a new front bumper with a discreet light-catching contour and a chrome strip at the bottom of the bumper, below the air intakes. The S-class now comes with bi-xenon headlamps as standard.

It also gets LED light package with striking LED arrays for driving lights & indicators at the front. The rear gets newly designed tail lamp cluster that houses horizontal white lights rather the previous inserts in the vehicle colour.

On the inside, the S500 is equipped with a new SPLITVIEW technology for the COMAND control and display system, centrally positioned in the console. There is an optional ambient lighting for the interiors with the three colour schemes "solar" (amber-coloured) "neutral" (white) and "polar" (ice-blue), that ensures pleasant light conditions for night driving. Other new features are the SD memory card slot and the Bluetooth interface.
