The Los Angeles auto show is one of the better known automobile fairs in the world, and the 2014 show is just around the corner. Last year, it was witness to the likes of the Porsche Macan and the Jaguar F-type coupé. Here’s a list of some of the interesting models from various marques that are expected at the Los Angeles show this year.

Audi
A track-bred iteration of the Audi R8, the R8 Competition claims to be the “fastest R8 ever offered”. It has a claimed 0-100kph sprint time of 3.2 seconds, while reaching a claimed topspeed of 320kph. Understandably, over the standard R8, this uprated version is focused on aerodynamics and makes use of lightweighting materials. Audi will also be showcasing the A9 concept. As the name suggests, the car is destined to sit at the top of the Audi range. It is also expected to reveal the design language that Audi will adopt in the near future.

BMW
BMW will be unveiling a pair from its ‘M’ performance wing. The new BMW X5 M and X6 M are the second generation of the high-performance SUVs sold in international markets. Both get power from a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine, that makes 564bhp and 76.5kgm of torque, and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Both cars also boast of new prominent cosmetic elements and aggressive designing.
