JLR names Speth as the new CEO

Jaguar Land Rover appoints Ralf Speth as the new Chief Executive Officer.

After appointing Carl-Peter Forster as the new CEO of Tata Motors, the company has announced that it has appointed Ralf Speth as the Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover. Speth has been given the overall responsibility for the JLR's operations and he will be reporting to Carl-Peter Forster.

Speth has over 22 years of experience in the European auto industry, most of which was at BMW where his last appointment was Vice President, Land Rover. Later he moved to Ford where he held the position of Director Production, Quality and Product Planning at Premier Automotive Group. Soon after that, Speth moved to Linde Group where he was the Head of Global Operations reporting directly to the Chairman.
 
Ravi Kant, Vice Chairman, Tata Motors said, "The introduction of Dr. Ralf Speth into Jaguar Land Rover under the guidance of Carl-Peter Forster will considerably strengthen the management of the Company and enhance the position and reputation of the two iconic brands in line with the long term strategy of the Company."

The post had been lying vacant since David Smith had quit the British luxury marques.
