Jeep has revealed seven eye-catching SUV concepts to celebrate the 50th iteration of the annual Jeep Easter Safari and the company’s 75 year anniversary. The seven concepts, designed and built by a specialised team of designers, engineers and fabricators are the latest in a line of concepts unveiled by the SUV maker for its annual Safari. The concepts, based on the Wrangler and Renegade feature a host of production and prototype performance parts from Jeep’s performance division and the Mopar brand with some models paying homage to iconic models from the company’s past.
Here is a look at the seven concepts:
Jeep Trailcat
The 6.2-litre supercharged ‘Hellcat’ V8 meets Jeep Wrangler to give birth to the Trailcat. The SUV gets a wheelbase longer by 12 inches, massive wheels, prominent wheel arch extensions along with a windshield chopped by two inches and as you can see, the end result is quite an eye-catcher. There are considerable mechanical changes as well.
Jeep Crew Chief 715
Built as a tribute to the Kaiser Jeep 715 military SUV, the Crew Chief 715 is based on the Wrangler Unlimited. Apart from a completely new front end, the Jeep gets steel front and rear bumpers, 20-inch beadlock wheels and 40-inch military tyres to pay homage to older military Jeep vehicles. The SUV concept is powered by a 3.6-litre ‘Pentastar’ V6 petrol engine.
Jeep Shortcut
Also based on the Wrangler, the Jeep shortcut is a modern take on the iconic Jeep CJ7. The SUV features a shortened body along with unique bumpers, grille, bonnet, tailgate and wheel arch extensions. It also gets a custom exhaust and red painted 17-inch steel wheels with 35-inch mud-terrain tyres to complete the iconic look.
