Were you quite keen on the Jeep Compass when it launched in 2017 but felt that it just didn’t have the enough features for its price? Well Jeep India has been listening. Say hello to Limited Plus – a new variant that is, for now, the top-of-the-line trim for the Compass.

The Limited Plus is priced at Rs 20.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 4x2 diesel-manual, Rs 21.41 lakh for the 4x2 petrol-automatic and Rs 22.85 lakh for the 4x4 diesel-manual variant. At these prices, the Limited Plus is roughly Rs 1 lakh more than its equivalent Limited (O) variant.

So what do you get for the extra money? Well, everything buyers asked for, actually. It starts with new larger, chromed-over 18-inch alloy wheels. That and the new Limited Plus badge are the only major visual changes outside.

You will find some new features inside as well. The driver’s seat is now powered and gets a memory function. There’s the addition of auto headlamps (bi-xenon HID lamps) and auto wipers. You also get an electronic auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. Then there’s the addition of a much larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, which replaces the old 7.0-inch screen. But the one feature that Indian buyers are most likely to go crazy for is the huge panoramic sunroof. It stretches across almost the entire length of the roof, opens at the front and does a god job of letting light into the cabin.

The safety kit has been taken up a notch on the Limited Plus, as well, with side and curtain airbags being added. The lower variants just get dual front airbags.

There have been no changes under the hood, so you still get a 163hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mill and a 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel motor. However, the Limited Plus does not have a petrol-manual option available – only a petrol-automatic set-up with 4x2. The diesel-manual variant has both 4x2 and 4x4 on offer and the diesel-automatic variant is yet to arrive.

So what do you think of the Jeep Compass Limited Plus? Is this the variant you’ve been waiting for since the start? Let us know in the comments.
