Jaguar has launched the diesel powered XF in India. The XF diesel will accompany the XF petrol that is available with 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine.
The XF diesel is powered by a 2993cc V6 motor churning out 271bhp and 61.22kgm of max torque. The diesel saloon will come equipped with 6-speed electronic automatic transmission with Jaguar sequential shifts.
Seeing the massive growth in demand for diesel luxury cars, the company has decided not to develop a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) version of its 3-litre diesel engine. The company has introduced the 3.0-litre diesel with a non-particulate filter so that the engine can run on the type of diesel fuel available in India.
From the outside, the XF’s fluid form is more fitting for a coupe than a saloon. The big pupils in the slit-like eyes house advanced cornering lights for better visibility at night. The gaping silver grille and the Jaguar logo at the centre make the car unmistakable. At the rear, the high rear deck lid, the crease lines, embellishments and the slinky tail-lamps looks distinctive.
The XF comes laden with features like electric sunroof, heated front windscreen, rain sensing wipers, heated electronic ORVM, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking aid with camera at the rear and 18 inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the XF sports soft grain leather seats, electronically adjustable front seats with driver memory, interior mood lighting, auto-dimming rear view mirror, six-CD changer audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, 7 inch touch screen with controls for audio, climate control and Bluetooth, and twin cup holders at front and rear.
Although the V8 petrol retails at Rs 66.11lakh, the 3.0-litre V6 XF diesel is priced at Rs 48.37lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
