Isuzu has announced that it will increase prices of its D-Max pick-up truck by about 2-3 percent depending on the variant from September 1, 2018. The D-Max is sold as a commercial vehicle – S-Cab and Regular Cab versions – and as a passenger vehicle, which gets two variants – V-Cross (Rs 14.32 lakh) and V-Cross High (Rs 15.82 lakh).

Prices for the commercial models are set to increase by about Rs 20,000, while the lifestyle pick-up’s price tag is set to be hiked by about Rs 50,000. Isuzu has said that the increase in prices is due to increasing output and distribution costs.

The D-Max S-Cab and Regular Cab are powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 78hp and 176Nm of peak torque while the V-Cross gets an upgraded version of the same diesel motor making 134hp and 320Nm of peak torque. All the models get a five-speed manual, though the commercial models are rear-wheel drive while the V-Cross gets switchable four-wheel-drive.

In the recent past, Isuzu’s 10,000th vehicle, which was a D-Max V-Cross, rolled out of the brand’s SriCity plant, marking a milestone for the Japanese company. Isuzu is expected to bring the facelift for its MU-X SUV, the only other model in its India line-up, to the country in the coming months.
