Following the addition of dual airbags as standard on the i20, i20 Active and Verna earlier this year, Hyundai has proceeded to add safety features to more cars in its line-up. In the latest update, the manufacturer has revised the features of the Grand i10, Xcent compact sedan and the entry-level Eon.

Hyundai Grand i10

As part of the revision, Hyundai has deleted the Asta trim from the Grand i10’s line-up, though the Asta (O) trim remains as the top trim. The hatchback also gets the addition of a driver airbag as standard with the passenger airbag now available from the mid-level Sportz trim. The revision of the features now leaves the Grand i10 with four trim levels – Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta (O). The prices of the Grand i10 start at Rs 4.90 lakh and go up to Rs 7.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai Xcent

In its last revision, Hyundai had started offering ABS as standard on its compact sedan, the Xcent. Now the driver airbag is included with the ABS. The top-spec SX and SX(O) trims come with dual front airbags. The Xcent is priced from Rs 5.37 lakh to Rs 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai Eon

The Eon now gets the option of a driver airbag across all but the base D-Lite trim. The top-spec Sportz continues to offer the driver airbag as standard. Prices for the Eon start at Rs 3.25 lakh for the base 0.8 litre D-Lite trim and go up to Rs 4.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 1.0-litre equipped Magna+(O) trim.

Hyundai is not the only automaker to add airbags to more models in its line-up. Maruti has also made dual airbags available as an option across all trim levels of most of its small hatchbacks.
