Honda seems to be in the final stages of preparation of the S660 roadster for Japan. The carmaker has revealed a production prototype of its S660 Kei roadster. Kei is the small-car segment in Japan, and has regulations that do not allow engine capacities beyond 660cc.

The S660 is likely to be powered by a 660cc three-cylinder petrol engine with a maximum output of 63bhp. The motor will be mated to either a six-speed manual or an optional CVT transmission, enabling the car to hit a top speed of 140kph.

Since the car hasnt been seen undisguised, cosmetic details are sparse. On the inside though, the two-seater cabin is more driver centric. The steering seems borrowed from the new Jazz, the instrument cluster is part digital, and there are quite a few buttons on the dashboard.

The S660 roadster gets a cloth top that can be removed, and this allows the car to stay light. In production form, the S660 roadster measures 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width and 1,180mm in height.
