The pre-facelift Ford EcoSport

Ford India has issued a voluntary recall of its EcoSport compact SUV made between May 2017 and June 2017. Affecting 4,379 units of the pre-facelift model, the brand has cited an issue with the weld integrity of the front lower control arm, which can affect steering control.

Additionally, Ford has also announced that it is writing to 1,018 EcoSport owners to inspect their cars for a potential problem with the driver and front passenger seat recliner locks. The models affected were produced between November 2017 and December 2017.

While the former recall concerning the front lower control arm is for the pre-facelift model, the latter recall affects the refreshed EcoSport that arrived in November last year.

Since the facelifted model was launched, Ford has been continuously updating the compact SUV with more kit and variants, including the Signature Edition and S variants, both of which get a sunroof as standard kit.
