Fisker Inc has teased its first car in a single design sketch posted on Twitter displaying a two-door coupé body shape. Henrik Fisker, the designer of the upcoming electric car and designer of models such as the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin DB9, has revealed that he will launch a new namesake company to produce a luxury EV next year.
The car is said to be a spiritual successor to the discontinued Fisker Karma of 2012 and will make use of “ground-breaking battery technology”, according to Fisker. Additionally, media reports suggest that it will have a 644km range.
The new model will use battery technology developed by Fisker Nanotech, Fisker Inc's sister company and battery division. Fisker Nanotech's CEO Jack Kavanaugh announced that he targets to move battery range and life to "unprecedented levels" using new packaging methods and lightweight materials.
Henrik Fisker added, “We have the technology that nobody else has. And there is nobody even close to what we are doing out there.” More models are planned for the future, suggesting Fisker Inc could become a rival to the likes of Tesla and electric brands from mainstream carmakers, including Mercedes’ EQ division.
