Fiat unveiled its innovative Mio concept car at the recently held Sao Paula motor show. The Mio was known originally as the Fiat Concept Car III, or FCC III; the earlier FCC I and FCC II were introduced at Sao Paulo in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

This is a car created online by more than 17,000 people measuring in at a whisker under 2.5 meters in length - it is shorter than a Smart ForTwo and features advanced interior technology including mobile phone integration and touch screen controls. Its minimalist design cues include, camouflaged headlights, a large glasss roof canopy and covered wheels for added efficiency.

The Mio evolved as part of an ongoing interactive process through Fiat’s website. More than 17,000 people were registered as official collaborators for the project - the broad themes being 'future and urban mobility' and 'sustainability'.

Fiat design boss Peter Fassbender said, “A good designer tries to realize the wishes of everyone and with this concept car we were truly working on everybody’s behalf. The end result is a car design for a world where the driver can be simply a passenger and can have the vehicle control through intelligent means.”
