Hindustan Motors to reveal two new models at the 2010 Autocar Performance Show in Mumbai. Mitsubishi will reveal the new Montero and launch the Evo X at the four-day event that starts on November 18, 2010.

The Evo X will be brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU). The X will come equipped with a six-speed, DSG-type, double-clutch gearbox with magnesium paddles attached to the steering column. The Evo X will be powered by a 2.0-litre motor churning out massive 291bhp of power, with a real mother of a turbo. Zero to 100kph can be achieved in 6.6sec and since the best part of the powerband is from 4000 to 6500rpm, sixty to 120kph takes only 5.4 seconds flat out and the X will accelerate just as hard up to 180kph and beyond.

On the other side of the HM stable will be the new Montero. It continues to be powered by the 4-cyls in-line, 3200cc, turbo-diesel engine, but the power now goes up to 199.28bhp, a good 37bhp higher than the older SUV. Torque figures too have gone up by 5.9kgm and the upgraded motor now produces 45kgm of max torque at 2000rpm. The SUV has been matted to 5-speed automatic gearbox. The 3.2-litre engine has been upgraded to meet with the BS IV norms with the inclusion of a new catalytic converter and swirl control bulb addition. In terms of styling upgrades, the new Montero has received minor cosmetic changes to the front and the rear bumpers.

The new Montero BS IV will retail at Rs 38.95lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Prices for the Evo X will be unveiled at the APS itself.
