GM India has launched the Chevrolet Beat. The Beat will be available in three trim levels, the base version PS priced at Rs 3.34lakh, LS at Rs 3.54lakh and the top end version LT will retail at Rs 3.94lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Beat will give direct competition to the Hyundai i10 which in contrasts is priced starting at Rs 3.32 lakh for the base model, to Rs 4.93 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top end manual transmission version.
The Chevy Beat is powered by a brand new 4-cylinder 1.2 litre engine that produces 79bhp of power at 6200rpm, while churning out max torque of 10.91kgm at 4400rpm.
The Beat (internally code named as M300) is based on the company’s new ‘300’ platform. The fact that GM is bringing this car to India before most other markets in the world is an indication of how important the Beat is for the company and is poised to be the game-changer for GM in India.
