The Mercedes-AMG GT C roadster has been teased on video ahead of its official debut at the Paris motor show later this month. No technical details of the new model have been released, but sources claim it will sit above the AMG GT and GT S in Mercedes' sportscar range, with more power from its turbocharged 4.0-litre 'hot vee' V8 engine and a harder, more aggressive chassis setup as part of its armoury.
The model is likely to eventually spawn a coupé version and will sit below the hardcore GT R. Given that the GT S produces 510.2hp and the GT R offers 585.2hp, we can expect an output of around 537.5hp with the GT C.
Some technical features of the GT R are expected to be passed down to the GT C. Spy pictures of the model confirm that it will get a folding soft-top, probably because of the weight-saving benefits compared with a hard folding alternative. Additional information will be released when the model is shown in Paris.
