Toyota introduced the 2018 Camry Hybrid in India at a price of Rs. 37.22 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2018 model doesn’t get any changes in terms of exteriors. Up front, the car comes with a wide chrome grille with automatic LED headlamps. The rear features wraparound tail-lamps with LED brake lights and a chrome strip on the boot lid and bumper. The Camry rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/55 R17 tubeless radial tyres.

Toyota has made some tweaks to the interiors of the 2018 Camry Hybrid. The cabin now has tan-coloured upholstery with a carbon-wood finish on the dashboard, steering wheel, centre console and the door trims. The four-spoke steering wheel has now been replaced with a three-spoke unit. The touchscreen infotainment system has also been updated with navigation and has Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity options. The infotainment unit is connected to a 12-speaker audio system. Comfort features in the car include a wireless charging pad, eight-way adjustable front seats with lumbar support, memory function and ventilation, three-zone climate control, and power-reclining rear seats with collapsible headrests.

The Camry Hybrid comes equipped with a host of safety features, which include nine airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control (VSC), an electronically controlled brake system, hill-start assist control, ISOFIX and top tether anchor for child seats, and more.

The Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-litre, in-line four-cylinder engine which makes 160hp at 5,750rpm and 213Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The hybrid system uses a 650V synchronous motor to assist the engine which produces 143hp and 270Nm of torque. The hybrid system is supported by a 245V Nickel-metal hydride battery with a capacity of 6.5Ah. The car has two driving modes – ECO and EV with a combined power output of 205hp.

This could be the last update on the current-gen Toyota Camry, as the all-new next-generation model is already out internationally – which, incidentally, could come to India in the future. Read more here.
