After this year's impressive Geneva motor show motor fans are hoping for more of the same (and possibly better) from the next major motor show, to be held in New York, from March 30 to April 8, 2018. The American show is traditionally SUV and truck-friendly, although sports cars are also big favourites. Here's a brief preview of the selection of cars expected to make their debuts at the Big Apple.

Cadillac XT4

Cadillac will reveal a compact SUV called the XT4, in New York. The American automaker will probably be hoping for a boost in their sales by tapping into the world's fastest-growing car segment.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR

The British carmaker has confirmed it will debut the most potent version of its F-Pace SUV at the event. Expect the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 mill to produce in excess of 540hp and sporty cosmetic changes to match.

Kia K900

The Korean carmaker's American sedan model previews what to expect from it for its internal offerings.

Mercedes-Benz C-class / C-class Coupé / C-class Cabriolet/AMG C 63

The C-class facelift was recently revealed at Geneva. Thus, New York will be the setting for the reveal of the tweaked Coupé and Cabriolet variants; as well as the massive, twin-turbocharged V8-engined C 63. The current model of this car puts out 476hp, so you can expect a higher output from the latest version.

Subaru Forester

Before the Japanese brand unveils its hybrid variant at the Beijing motor show on April 25, Subaru will unveil its new Forester SUV at the New York motor show.

Toyota RAV4

Considering Toyota has already begun its launch campaign for the new RAV4, it's likely only days away from being revealed. The RAV4 is expected to follow the Auris, with respect to ditching diesel engines for a punchy 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid to replace the oil-burner.

Volkswagen Atlas five-seater

Volkswagen has previewed an SUV concept that shares a face (and thus, it's likely to also share its underpinnings) with the seven-seat Atlas, which is a North America-focused model. The concept being released is, however, expected to be a five-seater.
