Maserati has introduced the 2018 Quattroporte GTS in India, with customers being offered two versions namely GranLusso and GranSport. The two versions differ in their exterior treatment. In GranLusso trim, the GTS is equipped with a small front spoiler, chrome-finished bumper inserts, body-coloured side skirts, GranLusso badges, along with 20-inch alloy wheels and blacked-out brake calipers.

The sportier GranSport variant comes with more pronounced intakes, aero splitters on the lower section and piano-black finished side inserts and central spoiler. An optional Carbon Package is also available with this trim, which has the wing mirrors, door handles, B-pillars and the sides of the front bumper in a carbon finish.

On the equipment front, the 2018 Quattroporte GTS comes with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display that’s mounted in the centre of the dashboard and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are two audio systems on offer – a 10-speaker, 900W Harman Kardon system, which comes as standard, and an optional 15-speaker, 1,280W Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system.

Mechanically, the car is unchanged from the previous model, with power coming in from the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 mill that pushes out 530hp at 6,500-6,800rpm and 710Nm of peak torque at 2,250-3,500rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Maserati has not disclosed exact prices for the Quattroporte GTS but has revealed, on average, the car will cost about Rs 2.7 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) after options. The Quattroporte GTS rivals Porsche’s Panamera Turbo that costs Rs 1.9 crore (ex-showroom).
