There's no clear answer here because no product today in the scooter segment has everything you need. On the product front, it's the Hero Xoom 160 that comes closest to meeting all your requirements. It has a smooth engine capable of holding highway speeds, good seating comfort and decent ride quality. The trouble is, Hero's Premia dealer network is still not widespread across the nation, and spares availability, as well as a quick service turnaround time for Premia products (like the Xoom 160 and Xtreme 250R), will not be on par with rivals with better dealer networks. While the Ntorq's smaller 12-inch wheels won't give you as surefooted handling as other scooters with their 14-inch wheels, it is perhaps the safest bet today. Backed by TVS' widespread sales and service reach in India, the bigger Ntorq is more than what its spec sheet suggests, and we'd recommend you at least take a test ride before writing it off. Coming to the Yamaha Aerox 155, it is simply too uncomfortable to be used on bad patches of road. Meanwhile, the SR 175 is expensive to own and maintain. Add to that the fact that Aprilia's dealer network is also very small and doesn't have a reputation for frictionless service.

Sadly, the Yamaha R3 has been discontinued in India and the company hasn't confirmed if or when the updated model will be coming to our shores. Therefore, the Royal Enfield 650s are your best bet if you want a twin-cylinder experience. Specifically, the Interceptor is a tried and tested product which should be characterful and reasonably comfortable for road usage. Bear in mind that the Interceptor is a heavy bike with its wide engine splaying the Rider's feet out, so if you're on the shorter side of the spectrum, you might struggle to flat foot it. You could also look at the Aprilia Tuono 457 if you want something sporty but still usable on the road. Aprilia's 457cc engine hasn't had the best reputation for reliability though and we'd recommend you tread lightly and make no modifications inside the warranty period on this bike. A test ride will help you figure out which bike is for you.

To get a motorcycle making more than 46hp within your budget, you can consider any of the Royal Enfield 650cc models, as well as the Aprilia RS and Tuono 457 models. Royal Enfield's 650s aren't sporty machines and are also considerably heavy, with some of them weighing 240kg or more. The Aprilia 457 models are properly thrilling and entertaining machines to ride, but have been plagued by some troubling engine reliability issues. It would be advisable to speak to some RS and Tuono 457 owners to see what their experience has been before pulling the trigger on either of the two. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a great sportsbike at a very steep price, just like its predecessor, the Ninja 400. If you can stretch for the Ninja, it is a capable, refined, comfortable and reliable machine which will serve you well. Do bear in mind that Kawasaki spares and service have a reputation for being on the pricey side and that the company's dealer network is quite small across the country. The Aprilia RS 457 is a truly great sportsbike, but because of its focused nature, it won't be the best fit on broken city roads. Another aspect to consider is that the 457cc engine has been reported to have multiple reliability issues that keep recurring. So, we would recommend you not go with the RS.The Honda CBR500R is not sold in India, so it shouldn't factor into your decision. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a machine that thoroughly feels its age today, but remains a unique offering in the class with its twin-cylinder engine. The single-cylinder TVS Apache RR 310 will feel quite dull to ride in comparison to these twin-cylinder machines. But it is also much more affordable and easier to maintain. Take a test ride to decide which bike is better for you.

The Aprilia RS 457 is a wonderful sportbike and is great fun to ride while also being desirable to own and look at. However, there's no escaping that the 457cc Aprilia engine has sadly been in the spotlight many times for reliability and various other issues highlighted by multiple owners.Apart from all this, Aprilia's dealer network is quite small, and spares are quite pricey. So we would recommend you stick with the dated but more affordable, proven and capable KTM RC 390.The RC will also be more spacious and comfortable for larger riders such as yourself. Coming to the KTM RC 450, that bike is highly unlikely to come to India as it is made by CFMoto, not Bajaj.

Considering that you come from a Honda Dio and are looking at sporty scooter options, we'll recommend only those that fit within this box. The Ather 450X is a superb offering, even all these years later, and if you do want an Ather 450 but can't quite digest the 450X's high price, it's worth taking a look at the Ather 450S because it packs in very similar performance, features, and range at a significantly lower price. That's about the only sporty electric scooter we would recommend currently.In the petrol scooter space, the TVS Ntorq 150 is a great option that is also well-priced. Another option you could also consider is the Aprilia SR 175, which is a more focused sporty scooter but is less practical and also has a rather limited dealer reach, so do bear that in mind.
