The R3 is essentially a waist pack that has been subjected to the Kreiga treatment of clever, motorcycle-focused design and top-quality materials. The R3 offers 3 litres of space that is completely waterproof, thanks to a roll-top closure. This is enough for a phone, wallet and a few other small items. If you want a more quickly-accessible space, there’s also an external pouch covered by a water-resistant zipper and another slim compartment with see-through plastic on the back of the main flap. All of this is covered by an external flap which is held down by twin snap-fit closures.

Top-notch, 420D nylon rip-stop is used for the main compartment and tough 1000D Cordura on the base and belt. The main compartment has a white dry bag that allows you to easily see all the contents. This bag is also removable, allowing easy cleaning or replacement – and, of course, there’s the famous Kriega fit. The thick straps are well-padded for comfort and to provide an additional layer of protection. Kreiga’s patent-pending alloy belt-adjuster allows easy tightening without any irritating loose straps to flap about. It doesn’t get better than this.

The Triumph co-branded Kriegas are usually the most affordable around and this one retails for around Rs 3,400 – a steal, compared to Kriega’s UK price of Rs 5,500. Sadly, the Triumph-Kriega association has now ended, so if you’re lucky, you’ll come across an unsold R3 at one of the dealerships. If not, the R3 still represents a convenient and completely waterproof way to carry your personal items when you’re on the bike; and like all Kriegas it may command a steep price but it fully delivers.
