    Here Wego!

Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has launched its much-awaited Wego scooter. Unlike TVS' Scooty range of scooters that are targeted primarily at the fairer sex, the new Wego is a unisex scooter.

The Wego boasts contemporary styling with its angular lines and sharply raked tail section being standout design elements. The metal-bodied Wego scores high on practicality with a useful lockable front storage bay as well as baggage hook located just above. In addition, its underseat storage is sufficient to hold an average-sized full face helmet. There is also a handy external fuel filler located just behind the seat.

This latest TVS scooter is powered by a four-stroke, 109.7cc, single-cylinder and air-cooled engine. Coupled with a variomatic transmission, this all-aluminium powerplant produces peak power of 8bhp at 7500rpm, with maximum torque of 0.8kgm available at 5500rpm. A maintenance-free battery is part of standard kit.

The Wego uses trendy 12-inch alloy wheels and comes equipped with rigid front telescopic forks and a first-in-its-class gas-charged rear shock absorber. Braking is via 130mm drums both front and rear.

The Wego is being launched in a phased manner and will be available nationwide by mid-June following which TVS expects to sell 20,000 Wegos a month.

To be sold in five colour options namely cappuccino brown, golden beige, silver, black and dark blue, the Wego has been priced at Rs 42,361 (ex-showroom, Pune).
