Launch plans for India remain unannounced but it is most likely to happen soon with Mahindra acquiring a major stake in Peugeot scooters in January, 2015, with the scooters being spotted in India in the same month.

While Mahindra has not confirmed which models from Peugeot will be present at Auto Expo 2016, we expect a wide range including the larger ‘maxi scooters’ as Mahindra will want to use the expo for brand building and to gauge public reaction to the various models.

Although not widely popular globally, Peugeot Scooters is a key player in Europe and are the oldest motorized two-wheeler manufacturer in the world. It has a wide range of scooters and mopeds, from 50cc to 400cc, including a three-wheeled scooter, the Metropolis.

With Honda also rumoured to be displaying a maxi scooter, the prospects for super or maxi scooters after the death of the 165cc Kinetic Blaze are looking good.
